Prosecutors are asking the Kyiv District Administrative Court to oblige the Department of Cultural Heritage to investigate the house at 26 Andriyivskyi Uzvoz. Also to issue a cultural heritage identification card, to ensure its consideration. Thanks to these actions, experts will be able to give the building the status of a cultural heritage object.

The historic building is now covered with banners and repair nets. Access to it is limited and the prosecutor’s office claims that the building remains abandoned all this time.
The building has “undeniable cultural value” thanks to its yellow Kyiv brick design and was built in the 1870s. According to the law enforcement officers, with all the powers and possible investigations, the Department of Culture ignores the house.
“Despite the existing powers to produce a historical certificate, carry out photo-fixation of the building for further consideration of the issue of its inclusion in the List of cultural heritage objects on its own initiative, the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection has been inactive for a long time“, the prosecutor’s office emphasized.
