The Ministry of Education will receive 415 million dollars from the World Bank: what will the funds be used for
The Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank signed agreements on the implementation of the LEARN program, which is designed for three years with a total funding of 415 million dollars.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education.
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a $235 million loan, and the International Development Association will provide a $150 million loan. Another $30 million will come in the form of a grant from the Multidonor Trust Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
The program will finance the construction of shelters, the purchase of ecological buses, the provision of textbooks, and teacher training.
It is noted that the LEARN program will become an important part of the “New Ukrainian School” reform, in particular, it will support pilot projects in senior classes.
Financing of the results-related lending program will go to the general fund of the state budget after achieving the specified results of the use of subventions and budget programs of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
