The mufti of Tatarstan promised the participants of the war to recognize them as martyrs
Mufti of Tatarstan, Kamil Samigullin, said that under certain conditions, the participants in the war in Ukraine will be recognized by Allah as martyrs for their faith and will go to heaven.
“If a soldier is a believer and defends his home, his family and his homeland, Allah will accept him as a martyr,” Samigullin is quoted as saying by Business Online.
The mufti also added that the Russian military is waging a “righteous war” because it helps Palestine, because, in his opinion, the US is forced to spend less money on Israel because of the aid to Ukraine.
This is far from the first case when Samigullin’s statements cause a public outcry. Earlier, the head of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Tatarstan sharply criticized the ban on wearing hijabs discussed by the secular authorities, spoke against the concept of “state-forming people” introduced in the Russian Constitution, and called on the authorities to show leniency to the participants of the anti-Semitic riots at the Makhachkala airport.
