The National Bank increased sales of foreign currency in a week


During the week from January 30 to February 3, 2023, the National Bank bought $5.05 million on the interbank currency market and sold $782.57 million. The negative balance of interventions amounted to $777.52 million. This is evidenced by NBU data.

According to the data, the National Bank increased currency sales compared to last week (from January 23 to January 27, 2023, $3.20 million was bought on the interbank currency market and $667.23 million was sold. The negative balance of interventions amounted to $664.03).

Since the beginning of the year, the NBU bought $30.05 million at the interbank and sold $3,513.74 million. The negative balance of interventions amounted to $3,483.69 million.

The purchase of currency by the population of Ukraine in January exceeded sales by $564.01 million, compared to $463.22 million in December, $390.6 million in November, $373.32 million in October and $202.5 million in September last year.
