The National Bank introduced commemorative coins “Born in Ukraine” into circulation on International Children’s Day, June 1. This was reported by the press service of the regulator.

The “Born in Ukraine” coin has two types. The face value of both coins is UAH 5, they are made of silver and nickel silver.

Obverse

On the obverse of the coin are placed: at the top, the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, to the left and right of which are the inscriptions in a semicircle – UKRAINE, the mintage of the coin is 2023; the denomination is FIVE HRYVNA, in the center is depicted a painting filled with folk color by Oleg Shupliak “The Cradle”, which embodies one of the most cherished archetypes of Ukrainians – a parental home surrounded by hollyhocks and a towel, which is both a cradle and a nest, which symbolizes continuation.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the coin is a painting by Oleh Shupliak “Connection”: against the background of a stylized universe – a baby cosmonaut, inextricably linked by an umbilical cord to his mother Ukraine (a map of Ukraine at the top), on the left is a mirrored inscription BORN IN UKRAINE in a semicircle.
