The export terminal in the Russian port of Taman in the Krasnodar region will stop transshipment of liquefied hydrocarbon gas onto tankers due to the threat of drone attacks. This is reported by Reuters with reference to sources.
About 7.5% of the total Russian export of hydrocarbon raw materials and about 20% – Kazakhstan’s account for the fate of the Russian port. Railway operators of Russia and Kazakhstan have already announced plans to limit cargo transportation in the direction of Tamana.
The interlocutors of the agency clarified that the decision was made after drone attacks on the Afipsky and Ilyinsky oil refineries on May 31. In addition, sources remind that liquefied hydrocarbon gas is the most explosive.
Market participants, according to the agency, plan to freeze transshipments for an indefinite period and consider other delivery routes. It is possible that Russian supplies will be reoriented to Poland, the domestic market or China.
Russian authorities or representatives of companies working in the port of Taman did not comment on the Reuters report.
