The sale of new cars in the EU has been growing for nine months in a row


The markets of Belgium, Croatia and the Netherlands showed the greatest growth in sales of new passenger cars, which amounted to 40.4%, 44% and 35.2%, respectively. This is reported by Ukravtoprom.

The most popular cars

Gasoline cars remain the most popular on the market of new passenger cars, the sales volume of which amounted to 306,757 units (38.2% of the passenger car market in April, the same as last year).

Compared to last year, the number of gasoline car registrations in the EU increased by 17.3%.

Last month, hybrid (HEV) vehicles accounted for 24.8% of the European market, which is up 1.1%. p. more than in the past. Their sales in April increased by 22.7% to 199,407 units.

At the same time, the market share of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) decreased from 9.2% in April last year to 7.4%. PHEV sales in April decreased by 5.5% to 59,703 units.

The segment of diesel cars decreased by 2.5%. p. — up to 14.7%. Sales of such cars remained stable — 118,007 units (+0.03%).

Electric vehicles (BEVs) covered 11.8% of the April market of new passenger cars, which is up 2.7%. more than a year earlier. Registrations of new BEVs in the EU increased by 51.9% and reached 94,561 units.

Cars from HBO and others were sold in April in the amount of 24,753 units (+40%).
