The story of a woman from Zaporozhye, whose apartment was destroyed

Zaporizhzhia resident Anna Prus, her husband and child miraculously survived in the house that was hit by a Russian missile on March 2, 2023.

As Anna told “Ukrainian Pravda. Life”, an explosion rang out in their house at 1:30 am on March 2. Anna with her husband and 5-year-old child managed to run out into the corridor, which saved them.

“There were three of us sleeping in our room: my husband, me and my five-year-old daughter. After the first flight, we woke up and ran to the corridor. At that time, the second explosion took place. We miraculously survived.” – says Anna.

Anna’s daughter Daryna did not even understand what happened, she was fast asleep.

Anna’s neighbor, who lived behind the wall in another entrance, died. Anna did not know this woman personally, she only saw her on the neighboring balcony.

The apartment in which Anna Trus lived is currently unsuitable for living: three floors from above fell on it, the ceiling was destroyed, not a single wall was missing, and the others were covered with cracks.

The Prussian family was sheltered by friends.

“Russian scum, a terrorist country took the lives of my neighbors, our home! We had everything in our apartment, and now there is nothing.” – says Anna.

According to the woman, her neighbors, whose apartments were destroyed or unsafe to stay in, were left in the open. Anna says that she witnessed a conversation between residents and a representative of the city government, who said that the displacement of people is their problem.

The woman gave these words publicity. The City Hall reacted to the situation.

“A video appeared on the Internet in which one of the women who lives in the destroyed house, and whom I have never seen or spoken to, by the way, stated that I allegedly told her that the problems of resettling people are problems of the people themselves, not of the city authorities.

That’s right. During all this time, only one person approached us with a request for settlement, who was immediately provided housing in a modular town. And everyone who will continue to make such requests will definitely get a roof over their head.” – wrote Anatoly Kurtnev, secretary of the Zaporizhia City Council, in his Telegram channel.

On March 6, a meeting of the city management with the affected residents took place. According to Anna, they were offered to live in a modular town.

“They say that you can live there, but there are no such conditions as in an apartment. As for our house, they informed us that there will be a commission and they will decide whether to demolish it or not. For now, we will live with friends, and then we will see.”– shares Anna.

So far, according to Anna, only volunteers helped her family: they gave food and offered clothes.

According to the latest data, 13 people died as a result of the impact, and rescuers continue to clear the rubble.

We will remind, as a result of a rocket attack on Zaporizhzhia, the Furnyk family died: a young couple and their 8-month-old daughter Emilia.
