Why the competition was delayed
At the end of July, UKF canceled the previous competition for the position of executive director and started a new one. The reason was that preselection candidates submitted an incomplete package of documents.
After that, changes were made to the competitive selection in the Supervisory Board of the UKF. To participate, it is necessary to provide a document on the command of a foreign language, which is one of the official languages of the Council of Europe. The contestant’s level must be at least B2. Previously, the conditions stipulated that only certificates of international standards were provided.
As Nataliya Kryvda, head of the Supervisory Board, explained at the time, the biggest problem arose with language certificates: “The need to submit an international certificate for participation in the competitive selection caused significant difficulties and misunderstandings, as it is quite difficult to obtain such a certificate today in Ukraine in the conditions of war. Therefore, striving to be democratic, we decided to make changes to the requirements for the position of executive director of the UKF in order to provide equal opportunities to all candidates and preserve the transparency of the competitive selection“.
