The USA and three Ukrainian agro-traders are investing million in infrastructure

The US Agency for International Development has announced cooperation with three Ukrainian agro-traders – together they plan to invest $44 million in grain export infrastructure.

USAID representatives reported this in a comment CNN.

The US is launching three new partnerships to develop Ukraine’s agricultural sector and increase supplies of Ukrainian grain to other countries around the world. We are talking about Ukrainian agro-traders Grain Alliance, Kernel and Nibulon.

According to the agency’s forecasts, cooperation will help increase Ukraine’s ability to ship grain by more than 3 million tons annually. Together, USAID and these organizations plan to invest $44 million in the development of storage infrastructure and the expansion of grain warehouses.

New investments will be directed at several terminals: Izmail and Reni in Ukraine and Chierna nad Tyso in Slovakia, where grain exports are expected to increase. Operations will include construction to renovate ship loading areas. In addition, to further develop operations in Slovakia, Grain Alliance will acquire a transshipment warehouse in that country.

USAID funding is directed toward the purchase of grain loading equipment, temporary storage facilities, and refurbished locomotives for use in Ukraine.
