The vice president of the Russian-Finnish company was given 12 years in the case of state treason

Valery Timofeev, vice president of the Russian-Finnish shipbuilding company Helsinki Shipyard Oy, was sentenced to 12 years in a penal colony in a high-treason case, Mediazona reports.

Timofeev was sentenced on July 5, but then the press service of the Moscow City Court refused to name the term assigned to him. Journalists learned about the deadline today during the review of the appeal in the First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction.

Timofeev was arrested two years ago – in July 2022. According to the investigation, he allegedly passed on information to foreign special services about the work of the “Yantar” shipbuilding plant in Kaliningrad, which is one of the main suppliers of ships for the Russian Navy. It is unknown what this information is and to which state Timofeev gave it.

Helsinki Shipyard Oy is a shipbuilding company that builds icebreakers and other ice-class vessels for work in the Arctic. It owns the Helsinki Shipyard.
