Maria Zankovetska National Theater (Lviv) collected 2.7 million hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a charity pre-premier screening of the musical “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.

The theater announced this in its own Facebook.
“This is good news and help for our soldiers who defend the state and our freedom!” – noted in the theater.
It was clarified there that the funds were raised thanks to the sale of tickets and charitable contributions.
About the performance “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”
“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” is a new musical of the Lviv Theater named after Zankovetska. The premiere screenings took place on September 21 and 22.
The basis for the musical was the novel of the same name by the British writer Roald Dahl. The book about a boy from a poor family who finds a winning ticket with a tour of the candy factory of the mysterious Willy Wonka celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
David Greig’s libretto was translated into Ukrainian Viktor Morozovknown for translations of the Harry Potter books, the works of Paulo Coelho, Ernest Hemingway, and the novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.

She is the director of the play Natalia Sivanenko (“Legends of Kyiv” at the Theater of Drama and Comedy on the Left Bank, “Scars” at the Wild Theater, Love Revolution at the “Golden Gate” Theater, “Fuel” at the Zankovetska Theater). She developed scenography and costume design Julia Zaulichna. I choreographed Lidia Soklakova.

The main character – the boy Charlie – is embodied by an actor on stage Yaroslav Derpak. And the glorified master of sweets Willy Wonka – honored artists of Ukraine Oleg Sikyrynskyi and Yuri Khvostenko.
