Ukraine needs $6.5 billion to fully meet its recovery needs this year. This was stated by Minister of Finance Sergey Marchenko during the meeting of the IMF and World Bank member countries in Montenegro, writes the League.

“Ukraine’s unmet priority needs for recovery this year amount to about $6.5 billion. Funds are needed for economic growth,” the minister said.
According to him, the government has earmarked in the state budget for 2023 part of the funds for the primary restoration in the amount of $3.3 billion. In addition, international partners have provided guarantees of about $4.3 billion.
“The timely attraction of these funds is crucial for the creation of proper living conditions for people, the return of migrants and assistance to the economic growth of Ukraine,” Marchenko said.

On May 23, the mission of the International Monetary Fund began its work on the first revision of the four-year program with Ukraine in the amount of $15.6 billion.
In March 2023, the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund approved a new four-year extended financing program for Ukraine in the amount of $15.6 billion. The first tranche in the amount of $2.7 billion was received by Ukraine immediately after the approval of the program.
