Emotions among Ukrainians in social networks

CAT-UA experts believe that among the posts about the war Ukrainian users of social networks could be found most often angry moods (27% of posts). This mood was caused by Russian shelling and its consequences (victims among the population, blackouts and destruction).

Information about the torture of prisoners, the oppression of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories, as well as dissatisfaction with the policy of the authorities, etc., also caused anger.

In the end, she did not leave the Ukrainians during the week of monitoring joywhich was recorded in 19% of posts in social networks. The non-governmental organization CAT-UA analyzes the mood of Ukrainians in social networks according to 50 key military search terms.

In general, automated monitoring systems download more than 300,000 posts on the Facebook, X, Telegram, YouTube, TikTok, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki networks every day (the last two are are prohibited in Ukraine).

Among them, 1,350 posts (approximately 0.25%) of users with a pro-Ukrainian position are randomly selected and analyzed manually.
