whether minerals are mined near the reserve
Is the field being developed near historical monuments in Vinnytsia region
Bush Reserve
Information is spreading in Ukrainian social networks that the land near the nature reserve in Busha in Vinnytsia region has been sold for the extraction of minerals.
However, carrying out such processes on this territory is dangerous, because the deposit is located in critical proximity to historical monuments. In particular, settlements of the Trypilian, Chernyakhiv, Scythian, and Old Russian cultures were previously discovered here.
Is this really the case and what is currently happening near the reserve? To find out, “UP. Life” turned to the director of the state historical and cultural reserve “Bush” Iryna Zakharchuk.
She says that the Bushan deposit was put on mineral maps back in 2007. But they sold a license for use only in February 2024. 2.6 million hryvnias were paid for it at the Prozzoro auction.
The license was purchased by the limited liability company “C-evolution”. According to OpenDataBot, the company founded February 19, 2024. Director and beneficiary is Nataliya Ghibelinda.
“The territory of the deposit is located 300-400 meters from the boundary of the Bush reserve and borders the geological reserve “Haidamatskyi Yar”.
The road to the mine runs through the reserve. I can’t imagine how these cars will drive, literally between historical monuments of national importance. For example, past the castle tower of the 17th century or the archaeological excavation of the Trypil culture of the V-III centuries BC“, the director of the reserve notes.
Residents sounded the alarm back in the spring. According to Iryna Zakharchuk, the local authorities also do not support the development of a quarry near protected areas.
“The multi-ton trucks that will carry this trempel and phosphate limestone will raise clouds of dust. It will kill the green tourism that the local people live on.” – she notes.
Currently, Busha is an ecologically clean zone with eco-settlements that are registered in the Genkrain network. There is also a recreation center “Healthy Life” where military and civilian Ukrainians undergo rehabilitation.
“We want to create a landscape reserve of local importance on Mount Lyskivka, where the quarry is to be dug. Because red-listed plants grow here. In this way, we will “cover” and protect this mountain and no one will encroach on it again“, – explains the director of the “Busha” nature reserve.
Iryna Zakharchuk adds that the situation in general looks strange, because no one has ever been interested in this deposit. They decided to develop minerals in the border territory with Moldova as early as the third year of the full-scale war.
Currently, no construction work is taking place on the mountain, says the director of the state historical and cultural reserve. In addition to a special mining permit, the firm must also obtain a land use permit. This process is still ongoing.
