Men who will be in the personnel reserve of teachers will not have the right to postpone the draft for military service.
Deputy Minister of Education Andriy Starshkiv said this told in an interview with “Ukrainian Pravda. Life”.
According to him, teachers from personnel support, despite maintaining salaries, will not have a real workload – one of the mandatory requirements for postponement.
“Not all teachers currently working at the school have the right to postponement. Only those who have more than 0.75 workload rates. Those who will be in the personnel reserve will not have workload – accordingly, and the right to postponement.”– noted the deputy minister.
As explained lawyer Maria Zvyagintseva, teachers of schools, in particular, are not subject to conscription during martial law.
A postponement is possible for them under two conditions:
- work in an educational institution should be the main one;
- the teacher’s employment should be at least 0.75 of the rate.
Instead, technical employees of educational institutions cannot claim the right to postponement.

From the reserve, teachers can either transfer to another school that can offer a job, or have a guarantee of employment in the de-occupied territory.
These teachers will be trained, and their salaries and jobs will be kept in case the school resumes its educational activities.
However, it is currently unclear how these education workers will be paid. The document that will approve the formula has not been approved.
To get into to the personnel reserve, the teacher should be filled statementcertify it with an electronic signature and download the education document.
Appeals must be considered within five working days.
