The Federation Council approved the participation of conscripts in peacekeeping missions

The Council of the Federation of Russia approved a bill allowing the use of conscript soldiers and volunteers in peacekeeping missions. At the moment, by law, only contract workers can take part in them.
The new bill was drafted by the Ministry of Defense in February. The explanatory note to the document states that its adoption will “expand opportunities for attracting military personnel sent to participate in peacekeeping activities.”
