Ukrenergo was told when Ukraine will be able to resume electricity exports

The head of the Ukrenergo operator, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, said that it is possible that after reviewing the balance of the energy system next week, Ukraine will be able to resume exporting electricity.

It is reported press service Ukrenergo.

Kudrytskyi emphasized that the decision to stop the export of electricity to Europe is not similar to the decision that was made on October 11 last year. Then, due to the start of shelling, the export of electricity was completely stopped for an indefinite period, and the power system was almost constantly short of capacity.

Currently, the suspension of electricity exports is a temporary, situational decision that Ukrenergo adopted to ensure the supply of electricity to Ukrainian consumers and businesses.

“We expect that from the weekend or from next week the balance will be reviewed and, perhaps, exports will resume in certain limited volumes,” the head of Ukrenergo said.

We remind you:

From Wednesday, import and export of electricity to and from Ukraine is not carried out. The lack of exports is related to the need to cover the country’s domestic consumption needs throughout the day and to provide reserves for the evening hours of maximum consumption.

This is primarily due to the entry into repair of power units of nuclear and thermal power plants.
