A businessman from Leno Oblast was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison for anti-war posters

The court in Lomonosov in St. Petersburg sentenced businessman and political activist Dmytro Skurikhin to one and a half years in a general regime prison in the criminal case of repeatedly discrediting the Russian army for two anti-war posters, Sever.Realii correspondent reported.
The case against Skurikhin was initiated because of two posters, photos of which were distributed on social networks and mass media. The first poster with the inscription “Russian society wake up. Stop the insane, lying, fratricidal war” appeared in August 2022. Skurikhin published photos with this poster in his Telegram channel.
The second poster with the phrase “Sorry Ukraine” was made by an entrepreneur for the anniversary of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. On February 24, 2023, the anniversary of the start of the war, Skurykhin knelt down with this poster and asked his daughter to take a picture of it. After that, the pictures were published in the mass media.
The prosecutor stated at the trial that Skurikhin’s crime was committed during an armed conflict, which should be considered an aggravating circumstance. The court ordered to burn the posters.
