Dmytro Vytushkin, a local historian, journalist and administrator of the “Ingermanlandia” group in VKontakte, was detained in St. Petersburg on suspicion of rehabilitating Nazism. This was reported to Sever.Realia by friends of the regional surveyor.

This information was confirmed by the city police. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also published photos of the detainee.

“Fontanka” wrote about Vytushkin’s detention without specifying his last name. According to the publication, the reason for the detention was the post community “Ingermanlandia”. In the text, the police saw the falsification of historical facts and the discrediting of the liberation of Leningrad from the blockade. The recording was allegedly posted back in December. The case was opened on October 12, the regional expert was detained for two days.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg reported that Vytushkin allegedly “posted comments in a community administered by him on one of the social networks with text rehabilitating Nazism, which are denial and falsification of historical facts established by the International Tribunal in Nuremberg.”

Dmitry Vytushkin is a well-known St. Petersburg local historian who has worked in several city publications and on the radio. He devoted his publications and speeches to the history of Ingria, a historical region on the Karelian Isthmus between the Gulf of Finland and Lake Ladoga. He also hosted a series of historical programs on the “Ingria without Borders” channel.
