An Omsk official threatened a student who was dissatisfied with a meeting with him with the army

At a meeting with students of the Siberian Road University, the vice-governor of the Omsk region Andrey Shpylenko forced one of the students to take off a T-shirt with the inscription BROOKLYN in English, the Telegram channel “ChTD” reports.

“You’re from New York, aren’t you? Change your T-shirt, don’t be ashamed. We don’t know what’s sewn there. Put on a good T-shirt,” Shpylenko’s appeal to the student is quoted by the publication.

It is also noted that at the beginning of the meeting, the vice-governor decided to ask those present why they had come to it. One of the students replied to the official that they were “driven”. For this, Shpylenko threatened the student with military service.

“I’m afraid that only you, young man, were chased away. The Armed Forces are crying for you. This will not happen there,” said the vice-governor.

  • The day before, the Ministry of Justice of Russia entered the “Academic Network of Eastern Europe” into the register of “undesirable organizations”, for cooperation with which citizens face long prison terms. This organization helped, in particular, students and graduate students who were under the threat of political persecution to find employment in universities and scientific institutions of safe countries.
