A 16-year-old resident of Dagestan was arrested in Chelyabinsk. He is accused of trying to set fire to a military plane at the Shagol airfield. The FSB also claims that the teenager was involved in a series of fires in November and December 2023 on the railway in Dagestan. The court sent him to SIZO for two months.
The Su-34 tactical bomber was set on fire at the Shagol military airfield near Chelyabinsk on the night of January 4. The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine claimed that the plane had burned down. According to Russian sources, it was extinguished, the amount of damage to the plane is not specified. At the same time, the Ukrainian mass media, citing sources in the same GUR, stated that it was a special operation of the Ukrainian military intelligence.
The teenager, whose name has not been released, was detained on January 5. The trial on the election of a restraining order was held behind closed doors. They accuse him of attempted sabotage at the Ministry of Defense facility. According to this article, he may face 12 to 20 years in prison. The FSB claims that the young man acted on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, and that correspondence with “Ukrainian curators” was found in his mobile phone.
