In Kirov, more than 300 volunteers are looking for a domestic cat, which was thrown out of the train on the Ekaterinburg – St. Petersburg route by a conductor. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

Volunteer Olga Kudryashova told about what happened to a cat named Twix. According to her, the incident happened on January 11, and the next day the owner of the pet turned to her for help in searching for the animal. According to him, the cat got out of the carrier and disappeared. Later, a video appeared showing that Twix was thrown out of the car by a train conductor. She explained that she saw a pet walking around the carriage, asked the passengers, but no one introduced themselves as the owner of the animal, because of this she considered the cat to be homeless.

It is reported that a special ticket was issued for the transportation of the cat. It is clarified that Twiks returned home to the Leningrad region after an operation on the intestine. The cat was accompanied by a relative of the owner.

The police did not initiate a criminal case under the article on self-government, stating that the cause of the incident was careless treatment of the animal by the attendant. The Sverdlovsk Transport Prosecutor’s Office organized an investigation into the improper provision of services in the transportation of animals.

Russian Railways reported that they are conducting an official investigation. The company expressed its regrets and announced that railway volunteers were involved in the search for the cat in Kirov. Russian Railways apologized to the owner of the animal and promised to do “everything possible to return Twix and prevent such incidents in the future.”
