Wives mobilized from the “DPR” were threatened after the protests

Wives mobilized in the Russian army from the occupied territories of the Donetsk region of Ukraine received calls from the security forces. They began to be threatened with detention after they joined protests demanding demobilization. “Vazhnye istorii” wrote about this on Thursday with reference to the story of one of the participants of the actions.

“Our actions were noticed. They called us and warned us that our power had flown for us “from the big land” [из Москвы]”, – the publication quotes the interlocutor. According to her, there was an order to patrol all the monuments near which the actions are held and to detain the participants, taking into account the martial law.

As the wife of the mobilized person noted, the call was the only reaction of the authorities to her numerous requests to demobilize her husband from the summer of 2022, in addition to numerous “subscriptions” from the departments.

“Important Histories” note that in January of this year, residents of the so-called “DPR” held four actions for demobilization, similar to those taking place in Russia. During the actions, women lay flowers with ribbons and anti-war inscriptions to the Eternal Flames and other monuments connected with the events of the Second World War.

In Russia, actions for the return of the mobilized are carried out by the “Way Home” movement. After the last action in St. Petersburg, the wives of those mobilized stated that they were pressured by law enforcement officers, “Dozhd” notes. Before that, participants of the “Way Home” movement talked about pressure from the authorities of different regions.

• In September 2022, the Russian authorities announced the so-called partial mobilization for war with Ukraine. According to official data, about 300 thousand people were called up. The decree on mobilization is still in effect.
• Representatives of the Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the mobilized will remain in the army until the end of the so-called “special military operation” (this is what the Russian authorities call the invasion of Ukraine – RS.).
