Ten regions of Russia were attacked by drones

In half a day, ten regions of Russia were attacked by drones. In the morning, rockets were also shot down over the Belgorod region. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Russia. It blamed Ukraine for the attacks.

According to the agency, a total of 25 drones were “intercepted and destroyed.” Eleven were shot down over Kursk Oblast, seven over Belgorod Oblast, the rest over Bryansk, Leningrad, Moscow, Oryol and Tula Oblasts. Another drone was destroyed over Voronezh, but the Ministry of Defense did not report it. Also, eight “Vampyr” rockets and one “Point-U” missile were shot down over the Belgorod region.

At night, an unmanned aerial vehicle dropped four explosive devices in the Belgorod region, wrote the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. He later reported several more attacks. According to Gladkov, two residents of Shebekin were injured as a result: they suffered shrapnel wounds – one required hospitalization. Houses and roads are also damaged, several villages remain without electricity.

According to the authorities of the Oryol region, a drone struck an oil storage facility in Oryol, causing a fire. 17 people were evacuated from the nearest high-rise buildings.

As a result of the drone attack, an oil depot also caught fire in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the governor of the region, Gleb Nikitin, reported. A fire train is involved in extinguishing the fire, it did not disturb the movement on the railway, writes Nikitin. “Kommersant” reported that the largest primary oil processing plant was stopped due to the fire.

The authorities of the other regions hit by the drones did not report any casualties or damage.

Later, the mayor of Taganrog, Andrey Fateev, reported on the drone attack. Rostov region became the tenth region to which a combat drone flew in half a day.

• After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, combat drones regularly arrive in Russian regions. There is destruction and victims. The Ministry of Defense of Russia claims that the attacks are being carried out from the Ukrainian side. In most cases, Kyiv does not comment on these messages.
