As a result of shelling on Tuesday in the Belgorod region, one person was killed, ten were injured, six of them in hospitals, the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported late in the evening.
“Today, a member of our territorial self-defense was killed,” Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel, adding that despite the “huge amount of false information from the enemy” there is “no enemy” in the territory of the region.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia previously announced that Russian military and border guards killed 234 “Ukrainian saboteurs” who tried to organize a breakthrough in the Belgorod and Kursk regions on Tuesday with the support of tanks and other armored vehicles. All attacks were repelled, the Russian military department claims.
Also, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Russian military did not “violate the state border”.
At the same time, the “Russian Volunteer Corps”, the “Freedom of Russia” Legion and the “Siberian Battalion” fighting on the side of Ukraine and consisting mainly of Russians declared that they had managed to enter the Kursk and Belgorod regions and that the fighting was taking place inside Russia .
