The Central Election Committee summarized the results of voting abroad

[ad_1]

The Russian Central Election Commission has published the final results of voting in the presidential elections at polling stations abroad.

According to official data, more than 72% of voters voted for Vladimir Putin abroad. Vladyslav Davankov, a representative of the “New People” party, took second place. He has more than 16.5% of votes. Mykola Kharitonov from the CPRF has slightly more than 2%, Leonid Slutsky, a representative of the LDPR, has less than 2%.

Davankov visited Putin in 15 European countries, Paraguay, Argentina and Israel.

In total, almost 400,000 Russians voted abroad.

In total, according to the Central Election Commission, Putin won more than 87% of the votes.

The result obtained by Putin became the maximum for the five times he ran for the post of President of Russia since 2000. In the previous elections in 2018, he was re-elected with 77% of the vote. In 2020, Putin signed a decree on amendments to the Constitution, which allow him to remain in power for two more terms.

Putin was self-nominated. Anti-war candidates – journalist from Rzhev Ekaterina Duntsova and municipal deputy from Dolgoprudny Borys Nadezhdin – the CEC of Russia did not admit to the elections. Duntsova was not allowed to collect signatures. Nadezhdin collected more than 200,000 signatures in his support, but the CEC found an unacceptable “defect” in them. Nadezhdin failed to challenge the refusal in court.

The West called the elections unfree and unfair.

Voting for the President of Russia was also held in the occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as in the annexed Crimea and Sevastopol. Western countries condemned the holding of elections in territories not controlled by Kyiv. Voting results will not be recognized there. Local residents said that they were pressured to vote.
