The court sentenced Azat Myftakhov to 4 years on the charge of justifying terrorism

On March 28, the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg sentenced anarchist and mathematician Azat Miftahov to 4 years in prison on charges of justifying terrorism.

The activist must serve the first half of the term in prison, and the second – in a high-security colony. This is reported in the ego support group in Telegram.

He was accused of the fact that, while in the colony, he, in a conversation with other prisoners, approved the concession of Mikhail Zhlobytsky, who set off an explosion in the FSB building in Arkhangelsk and was killed in the process (there were no other victims).

Azat Miftakhov, a former graduate student of the Moscow State University Mehmat, served five years and nine months in prison on charges of hooliganism: according to the investigation, he and several other people broke a window in one of the Moscow offices of United Russia and threw a smoke grenade into it. Myftakhov stated that he was questioned during the investigation and refused to testify.

Shortly before the deadline, it became known about a new criminal case. Myftakhov was detained immediately after he left the colony in September 2023, and was sent to a pre-trial detention center.

Myftakhov does not admit guilt, the defense insisted on his full acquittal. Speaking in court, Myftakhov noted that he argued with other prisoners about the capture of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut after watching the news, but he did not say anything about Zhlobytskyi in this dispute.

Three FSB officers were injured, Zhlobytsky was killed.
