On Sunday, police officers took SOTAvision correspondent Anna Sliva, who was filming a picket of relatives of mobilized military personnel at the building of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, to the Khamovniki police station in Moscow. This was reported by the journalist herself. According to her, the police told her that they were not detaining her, but were simply taking her “to talk”. At the same time, as SOTAvision writes, she had a press card and an editorial assignment with her, but the police took it away.

Two activists of the movement of wives of mobilized women came out to picket the building of the Ministry of Defense with the poster “It’s time for the mobilized to go home.”

The police entered into a conversation with them, but did not detain them.

“Mediazona” notes that Anna Sliva regularly attends protest actions of mobilized wives. The last time the police detained her on February 24, on the second anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, during pickets in the Alexander Garden near the Kremlin Wall.

Earlier this week, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested another SOTAvision journalist, Antonina Favorskaya, on charges of participating in an extremist organization. Such a consequence is called the Anti-Corruption Fund founded by Alexei Navalny.

According to the investigation, Favorskaya collected materials, filmed and edited videos and created publications for the foundation. Yulia Navalny’s press secretary Kira Yarmysh said that this is not true.

According to the presented article, the journalist faces up to 6 years in prison. FBK was recognized by the Russian authorities as an extremist organization in 2021.
