A post-graduate student of the St. Petersburg National Research Academic University named after Alfyorov was detained in St. Petersburg. The police believe that he broke a window in the building of the military commissariat of the Vyborg district and left anti-war inscriptions on the walls. “Fontanka” writes about this.
According to the publication, the incident occurred on the night of February 26. A criminal case of hooliganism has been initiated against a 25-year-old graduate student. Telegram channel “Baza” writes that a second case has been filed against him – about the so-called discrediting of the Russian army. It is known that the graduate student was previously brought to administrative responsibility under the article on discrediting, – writes Sever.Realii.
According to Baza, the detainee’s name is Vladimir Mironov. The court must choose a measure of restraint in respect of him.
- Articles about criminal and administrative liability for “discrediting” and “fakes” about the army appeared in March 2022, after the start of a full-scale war with Ukraine. Judging by law enforcement practice, the authorities can mean any information that contradicts the official position of the Ministry of Defense by fakes, and by discrediting – any statement condemning the war, even without mentioning Ukraine (for example, “No war”). Human rights activists called these articles “the actual introduction of military censorship.”
- On September 21, Russia announced the mobilization of the population for the war in Ukraine. On the same day, unknown persons set fire to military enlistment offices in Transbaikalia, Khabarovsk, Amur region and Krasnoyarsk region. Later, reports of arson of military enlistment offices began to come from other Russian regions, including the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions. In total, after the beginning of mobilization in Russia, more than 40 cases of attacks on administrative buildings are known.
