Lawyers of political prisoners are being detained en masse in Belarus, the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty reports.
Over the past two days, Artyom Semyanov, whose house was searched, Yury Kozykov, Vladimir Stankevich and Ivan Chyzhik have been detained. The location of the last two is unknown. What is connected with the “roundup” of lawyers (that’s what Belarusian human rights activists call the incident) is not specified.
On Tuesday, the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty also reported that Igor Losyk, the administrator of the Telegram channel “Belarus of the Brain” who cooperated with it, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the authorities and who recently attempted suicide in the colony, was not hospitalized and, perhaps, still remains in solitary confinement. There is still no connection with him. It is known that Losyk was defended by one of the detained lawyers – Artyom Semyanov.
In addition, on Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Belarus rejected the appeal against the sentence of the wife of Igor Losyk, Darya, who was sentenced to two years in prison on the charge of “assisting in extremist activities” due to an interview with the Belsat TV channel, recognized by the Belarusian authorities as an “extremist group”.
It is noted that the 4-year-old daughter of Igor and Daria Losyk is currently in the care of their relatives.
