The government is preparing to start pilot projects for the comprehensive restoration of settlements destroyed by the Russians – for this, one settlement will be chosen in 5 regions of Ukraine.
It is reported press service The Cabinet of Ministers based on the results of the meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
During the meeting, the start date and the first comprehensive reconstruction projects in the territories liberated from Russian occupation were determined.
Pre-selected one settlement each in Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions. The government says that cities will be rebuilt according to the “build back better” principle, that is, “rebuild better than it was”.
Shmyhal noted that the law necessary for the start of large-scale reconstruction projects has already been adopted by the parliament and signed by the president. According to him, it is not only about the reconstruction of housing, but also hospitals, schools, kindergartens, community centers, cultural facilities, etc.
Also, at the Prime Minister’s meeting, they discussed the preparation and adoption of the necessary by-laws for launching the compensation mechanism for damaged and destroyed property.
