The court sent the accused for treatment in an attempt to join the legion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The court in the Tver region sent Sergei Kolin to compulsory treatment, who was accused of attempting to participate in an illegal armed formation. The defendant was declared insane and released from criminal liability. This is reported by “OVD-Info”

Kolin was detained an hour ago in the Tver region. According to the investigation, he expressed his support for Ukraine during the “special military operation” (this is how the war with Ukraine is called in Russia). Investigators also claim that Colin was planning to join the “Legion of Freedom of Russia” – a unit of the armed forces of Ukraine, formed mainly from Russian volunteers and prisoners of war.

The Supreme Court of Russia recognized “Legion” as a terrorist organization.

Before the trial, Kolin was in pre-trial detention center No. 1 of the Tver region. Andrey Trofimov, accused in the case of fakes about the Russian army and appeals to extremism, was in the same pre-trial detention center. According to him, he was also sued for a request to join the “Legion of Freedom of Russia”.

Trofimov also told about other people who are in the pre-trial detention center with him, including Kolin, whom he called a trash blogger.

In March last year, the Telegram channel “112” wrote that a person died during one of Kolin’s trash streams. According to “112”, the blogger was known for finding homeless people and forcing them to get drunk on camera.

After the full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine, the Russian authorities began to persecute citizens for expressing an anti-war position. According to Mediazona, more than six thousand cases have been opened under the administrative article on the discrediting of the Russian army. More than 500 people are being prosecuted under criminal charges for their anti-war stance.
