During its meeting on May 12, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the attraction of funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of EUR 200 million for Ukrzaliznytsia. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Telegram.

“The Government of Ukraine, together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, are preparing a project to restore the railway,” he noted.
Where will the funds go?
According to Shmyhal, these funds will be used for the purchase of equipment necessary for the restoration of railway corridors from the EU, improvement of passenger transportation and the purchase of additional locomotives.
