The LDPR continues to insist on the creation of a contract army numbering at least 7 million people. Party leader Leonid Slutsky wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“We escaped big blood,” Slutsky is quoted as saying by the TASS agency. “But to ensure security, we need a contract army with the number of at least 7 million servicemen and civilian personnel,” the message says.

Slutsky believes that “the country does not need any PMCs and their analogues.”

Slutsky emphasized that the party is ready to solve the problems of the army together with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. As for the victims of the mutiny, Slutsky said that the pardon should not affect those “who killed the pilots, in fact, their comrades in arms”, and “these people should be brought to court and suffer the most severe punishment”.

Former assistant to the president and deputy head of the presidential administration, Vladislav Surkov, spoke out against private military companies in Russia. He believes that the PMC is an “essentially anti-institutional” institute.

“The PMC was created to participate in proxy wars. Why do we need them today, when we are openly participating in the battle for Ukraine? This is not a proxy war, this is SVO. The army must be strengthened not only with weapons, but also with a unified command,” Surkov said in an interview , which was published on his Telegram channel by a political technologist close to him, Alexey Chesnakov. According to him, Surkov answered his questions on Saturday, June 24.

He believes that if the law on the PMC is passed, it will create the prospect of the transformation of Russia and the “Eurasian tribal zone”.
