The State Duma submitted a bill in which it is proposed to grant the Russian Guard the right to have military equipment, including heavy equipment. The documents are published on the website of the lower house of the parliament.
It is proposed to introduce amendments to the law “On the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation”. According to the document, the law proposes to replace the term “weapon” with “armament”, and the term “military equipment” with “military equipment”. The explanatory note states that “military equipment” means “various technical means with which troops (forces) are equipped for combat and everyday activities (combat equipment, technical means of controlling troops (forces), technical means of combat, technical and rear support, etc. .d.)”.
The authors of the bill believe that the amendments are due to the tasks of the Russian Guard, among which are “participation in the fight against terrorism and extremism, participation in the provision of emergency regimes, martial law, the legal regime of counter-terrorist operations, participation in the territorial defense of the Russian Federation.”
According to TASS, the bill will be considered in the first reading on July 19.
