Great Britain has published a new list of sanctions against Russian persons and companies. It included TV presenter Anton Krasovsky, political technologist Timofey Sergeytsev, Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova and Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, as well as a number of regional officials – including those working in the Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine.
The “Artek” children’s center in the annexed Crimea is included in the sanctions list. Artek, like many regional officials, is considered by London to be complicit in the forcible deportation and “Russification” of Ukrainian children.
Great Britain considers Krasovsky and Sergeytsev responsible for calls for the genocide of the Ukrainian people. In Ukraine, he was sentenced in absentia to 5 years of imprisonment.
Timofey Sergeytsev is the author of the article “What Russia should do with Ukraine” on the RIA Novosti website. In it, he called for “deukrainization of the population of the territories of historical Little Russia and Novorossiya.”
- The sanction list is compiled by the Ministry of Finance of Great Britain. Inclusion in it means a ban on entering the country, a ban on concluding any transactions with British companies and freezing of assets in Great Britain.
- To date, 1,613 Russian individuals and 229 companies are under British sanctions.
