An FSB officer is being tried in Rostov-on-Don, after the torture of which a man died

The Garrison Military Court in Rostov-on-Don is considering the case of FSB officer Vladimir Kozak, who is accused of exceeding his official powers. According to the investigation, Kozak beat and interrogated the suspects during the interrogation. One of them died from torture.

The case of exceeding official authority and intentionally causing serious harm to health, resulting in death, was initiated against not only Kozak, but also “a group of unidentified persons” – presumably colleagues of the accused. Details are difficult to establish: access to the case page is blocked on the website of the judicial department.

According to “Mediazona”, Kozak was arrested much earlier – at least at the beginning of summer. It was possible to find out about his case only when he tried to challenge his arrest, but the court refused him to change the measure of restraint.
