The explosion in the ventilation shaft at the military enlistment office occurred at the beginning of September. The detainee allegedly made the explosive device himself, using gunpowder from railway firecrackers.
According to the publication, the suspect is a 32-year-old native of Lithuania. Until 2015, he lived in Arkhangelsk, after which he moved to St. Petersburg. During the detention, the man said that he has problems with mental health after the coronavirus infection, he has panic attacks.
He decided to set off an explosion near the military enlistment office because of the mobilization for the war in Ukraine, in order to scare those who wanted to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense. According to preliminary information, he was detained on November 13.
No one was injured in the explosion of the homemade bomb. The ventilation shaft received minor damage.
