An activist was detained in St. Petersburg with a poster “Where is Andrey Pivovarov?”

In St. Petersburg, activist Dmytro Negodin was issued a protocol for violating the requirements of the high alert regime due to a picket in support of oppositionist Andrey Pivovarov, who was convicted on charges of operating an undesirable organization.

Dmitry Negodin stood with a poster “Where is Andrey Pivovarov?” in Gostiny dvor, when he was detained by police officers. This is reported by Sever.Realii.

On the poster it was written who Pivovarov was and what he was arrested for. The text also indicated that the opposition politician was transferred from the pre-trial detention center of the Krasnodar region in December, and that he has not been in touch since January 18.

When the activist was asked about the reasons for the detention, one of the policemen said that “it is not possible to speak with political posters.”

A fine of 30,000 to 40,000 rubles is imminent.

• Opposition politician Andrei Pivovarov was detained in May 2021. In July 2022, the court found him guilty of operating an undesirable organization. The Prosecutor General’s Office recognized Open Russia as such in 2017, but it was not a Russian public organization headed by Pivovarov, but an organization registered in London. Pyvovarov was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. The Memorial Human Rights Center recognized Pivovarov as a political prisoner.
• At the end of 2022, Pivovarov was sent by stage, the last time he contacted St. Petersburg was on January 18. Since then, neither his family nor associates know anything about his whereabouts.
