India asks to release its citizens serving in the Russian army

[ad_1]

India is asking Russia to allow its citizens, who have signed contracts with the Russian army, to resign before the contract expires. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, Randhir Jaiswal. According to him, a certain number of Indians serve on contract in the war zone on “support work”.

Jaiswal said that the Indian embassy in Moscow is monitoring the fate of Indians in the Russian army and is negotiating with the Russian authorities about their early dismissal. He did not specify the number of such contractors. According to Reuters, earlier Indian sources called the number approximately 100 people.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Indian citizens to “be careful and stay away from this conflict.”

The head of the All-India Majlis, the spiritual leader of Indian Muslims, Asaduddin Owaisi, called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the early dismissal of contract workers and their early return home.

  • Earlier it was reported that citizens of Nepal are fighting in Ukraine on the side of Russia under contract or as part of private military companies. The Nepalese authorities claimed that there were about 200 of them, CNN called the number 15 thousand. After at least 10 Nepalis died in the war zone, Nepal stopped issuing work permits to its citizens in Russia and Ukraine. Kathmandu also demanded that Moscow stop the recruitment of Nepalese, and return those who have already been recruited to their homes.
