On the night of March 8, Russian troops attacked the territory of Ukraine using 37 Shahed-type drones, one S-300 air defense missile and two Kh-59 air defense missiles. This was reported by the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
33 drones were shot down in the Kirovohrad, Odesa, Kherson, Nikolaev and Kharkiv regions.
The Command of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine reported that an infrastructure object was damaged in the Odesa region, the buildings of which were preserved for a long time. There was no information about the victims.
As a result of the attack on the town of Chuguev, seven people, including a child, were injured, the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports. According to preliminary data, the strike was carried out from the S-300 air defense system from the territory of the Belgorod region.
In the Nikopol district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, three private houses and a farm building were damaged. There were no casualties, reported the head of the regional administration, Sergey Lysak.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia, in turn, reported on 16 downed drones. During the night, one drone was shot down over the territory of the Belgorod region, eleven over the territory of the Volgograd region. At seven in the morning Moscow time, four drones were shot down over the territory of the Volgograd region.
The governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, said that there were no casualties or damage.
