Joe Biden and Donald Trump won the Louisiana primary

In the American state of Louisiana, primaries were held – voting, during which political parties decide which of their members will run for president. As expected, the candidate from the Democratic Party was the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, and from the Republican Party, Donald Trump, who already held the presidential chair from 2017 to 2021.

The result of the primary in Louisiana was predictable, the Associated Press notes. Both Biden and Trump remained the only candidates from their parties – their competitors have already withdrawn their candidacies. However, according to the publication, both candidates do not have an unambiguously positive reputation for non-party voters. Many blame Biden and his administration for insufficiently decisive actions in relation to the current conflict in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Hamas group, recognized by the United States and the European Union as a terrorist organization. Trump’s figure is followed by a trail of criminals accused of fraud and abuse of office.

Nevertheless, in the primaries, both Biden and Trump have already won convincing victories in several states. During the campaign, they both rely on their achievements during their time in the White House and present each other as a threat to America.

• The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5. Traditionally, the main struggle for the post during the voting takes place between the candidates of the country’s two largest parties: Democratic and Republican. They are expected to nominate Biden and Trump.
• In addition to Biden and Trump, the nephew of the 35th President of the United States, Robert Francis Kennedy, Jr., Green Party candidate Jill Stein, and philosopher Cornell West announced their participation in the election. The Libertarian Party will nominate its candidate.
