In Pskov, a contractor was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for self-inflicted gunfire

The court sentenced the serviceman from Pskov to 6.5 years in a general regime colony. According to the investigation, Vladimir Hit voluntarily left the unit during mobilization. “Pskovskaya guberniya” writes about it.

Earlier, Hit had already been convicted under a similar article, in November of last year he ran away from the military unit three times, each time he was caught.

In court, the military man partially admitted his guilt. The sentence did not enter into legal force.

Earlier, Mediazona reported that in March of this year, the number of sentences handed down by Russian military courts in criminal cases of involuntary desertion reached its peak. According to the publication, which collected data from garrison and district military courts, in March of this year, 684 verdicts were handed down in cases of desertion. Thus, in March, military judges handed down approximately 34 sentences under this article every working day.
