A 14-year-old schoolboy was arrested in Khabarovsk Krai, the reason for this, with a high degree of probability, was his sympathy for Ukraine, Mediazona reports.
According to the publication, Valery Zaytsev, a resident of the Solnechny settlement, is officially accused of preparing for a terrorist attack: allegedly, with his 18-year-old friend, he learned to work with explosives and prepares “Molotov cocktails.”
Zaitsev’s classmates, who communicate with him, do not believe this, but say that the schoolboy spoke out against the war and in support of Ukraine. A number of Telegram channels reported that Zaitsev allegedly sympathized with the Ukrainian Azov battalion, but no evidence was provided.
It is also noted that Zaitsev has a closed form of tuberculosis, he was treated for the last six months, and he was detained right in the children’s hospital.
The schoolboy’s classmates claim that he is currently in a pre-trial detention center. They learned about it from the words of Zaitsev’s older brother. There is no official confirmation of this information yet: the Investigative Committee and the judicial authorities have not announced anything about the selection of a preventive measure for the detainee.
The management of the school where Zaitsev studies refused to give any comments. At the same time, the schoolboy’s grandfather said that the police “did everything right” and he himself “is not against the detention” of his grandson.
