The court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Pavel Nikolin, a fighter of PMC “Wagner” to 6 years and 11 months in a special regime colony for shooting at a car with policemen. One employee was injured.

The attack took place in December last year in Novoshakhtynsk on the border with Luhansk region. The police came across Nikolin, dressed in a camouflage uniform, in a forest strip during a round-up. According to the investigation, Nikolin fired at least three times at the car with the policemen from a hand machine gun. They detained the ego for the next day.

During the interrogation, Nikolin claimed that he “left the group” and mistook the policemen for Ukrainian soldiers: he did not know that he had crossed the border and was already in Russia.

“Baza” then wrote that Nikolin was serving time for theft and robbery in the Ufa colony, where he was recruited into PMC “Wagner”. According to the publication, Nikolin deserted at the end of November 2022. After the arrest of Nikolina, the head of the military group Yevgeny Prigozhin signed a surety bond for him and was “ready to take him back to the front.”
