In the Bryansk region, as a result of a drone attack, a fire started on the territory of an oil depot in the city of Klyntsy. According to preliminary information, there are no victims. The fire engulfed several tanks. Fire and rescue teams of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia are working on the spot. 13 fire trucks were involved, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, wrote in a telegram.

He claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to attack objects on the territory of the city of Klintsy, which is located 50 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The aircraft-type drone was suppressed by Russian EW means, however, when it was destroyed, ammunition was dropped on the territory of the Klintsovo Oil Base. After that, the fire started.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported on the downed drone in the Bryansk region. The message did not mention the damage or the purpose of the attack. Photos and videos of the fire and a large plume of black smoke “can be seen from all parts of the city” are published in local newspapers.

The Klintsov oilfield belongs to Rosneft. On May 11 last year, it was already attacked by a drone. The second oil depot in Bryansk was attacked on April 25, 2022.

Yesterday, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, air defense forces intercepted an aircraft-type drone over the Leningrad region. Its wreckage was found on the territory of the St. Petersburg oil terminal.

A source of the publication “Ukrainskaya Pravda” in the special services of Ukraine stated that the drone attack was organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. According to him, the target was an oil base in the Leningrad Region.

  • Drone attacks on Russia have become regular since the spring of 2023. At the same time, UAVs not only attack border cities, but also fly to targets hundreds of kilometers from the contact line. As a rule, Kyiv does not officially comment on attacks on targets in Russia, although sources in the Ukrainian special services have repeatedly claimed that such attacks are carried out by Ukraine.
