A Kolym pensioner was detained for commenting on the terrorist attack in “Crocus”

In the Magadan region, a 75-year-old pensioner was detained on charges of justifying terrorism in connection with the comment about the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the police, a resident of the village of Ola published a message justifying the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” in a thematic group in the messenger. The suspect was detained by the FSB officers with the support of the SOBR.

The detainee was released on a bond not to leave and to behave properly. He admitted his guilt, said that he had “done something stupid”. He faces up to seven years in prison.

In different regions of Russia, after the attack on “Crocus City Hall”, it is reported that people have been detained for commenting on the terrorist attack. Many of them apologize to the camera after being detained. Several criminal cases have been initiated under the article on the justification of terrorism.

The case of yachtsman from St. Petersburg Mykola Konashyenko received the greatest fame. The court sent him to SIZO for 2 months. His wife was forced to leave the post of director of the “New Holland” complex. It is reported about the detention of another resident of St. Petersburg, a resident of the Lipetsk region, a resident of Bashkortostan, a 15-year-old schoolgirl from Nizhny Novgorod. All of them, presumably under pressure, recorded a video with apologies.

Residents of Belarus are also detained for commenting on the terrorist attack.

• The terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” took place on the evening of March 22. In total, 11 people were detained in the case, as reported. Four of them, allegedly the immediate perpetrators of the terrorist attack, were beaten, probably tortured and arrested. The recognized terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS) claimed involvement in the attack.
• The head of the FSB of Russia, Alexander Bortnikov, said that Ukrainian special services allegedly contributed to the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow. Earlier, the same version was expressed by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and it was also started to be spread by TV channels and social networks controlled by the authorities. All accusations are based on the fact that the terrorist attack allegedly benefited Ukraine and that the suspects were detained in the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine and Belarus. The Ukrainian side declared its non-involvement in what happened in “Crocus City Hall”.
• The officially confirmed number of victims of the attack on the morning of March 28 is 143 people. Treatment continues for more than 70 victims.
