In Moscow, on Sunday, a meeting of the initiative group to nominate a journalist from Rzhev, Ekaterina Duntsova, to the presidency of Russia took place. Those gathered unanimously voted for Duntsova.

719 people registered for the meeting. According to the law, there should be at least 500 of them. The candidate herself and a representative of the Central Election Committee were also present.

Even before the official start of the meeting, the electricity in the hall went out.

The candidate asked the owners to extend the lease term.

Duntsova, a former member of the Rzhev City Duma, announced her intention to run for president in November. She spoke in favor of ending the war in Ukraine and against political repression. If the meeting of the initiative group nominates her for the presidency, she will need to collect 300,000 signatures for registration.

According to “Sota”, there is an agreement between the staffs of Duntsova and Boris Nadezhdin, who announced the nomination for the presidency of the ex-State Duma deputy, on the joint collection of signatures.

The task of collecting signatures also faces President Vladimir Putin, who is running for his fifth term. The initiative group in his support put forward his candidacy the day before. Today, the candidacy was supported by the Congress of the “United Russia” party. At the same time, Putin is not running for the party.

Supporters of the former commander of separatists “DPR” Igor Strelkov (Gyrkin) who is in pre-trial detention center announced their intention to hold a meeting of the initiative group. Other potential self-nominated candidates have not yet been reported.
