A resident of the Tula region was sentenced to 4 years in prison for fasting for the war

The court in the town of Aleksyn, Tula region, sentenced Yulia Tyshchenko to four years in a general regime colony under the article on calls on the Internet for activities directed against the security of the state. The verdict was handed down back in December, and the fact that it was published on the court’s website drew the attention of the “OVD-Info” publication.

The case was initiated due to Tyshchenko’s post on Facebook with information about the collection of walkie-talkies and thermal imaging cameras for Ukrainian army soldiers, which was published in 2022. The text of the sentence specifies that the convicted woman lived in Ukraine for ten years. She has been in custody since August 30, 2023. The verdict states that she pleaded guilty in court.

Also on Monday, the details of the verdict in absentia in the case of the so-called fakes about the army, handed down in Moscow in December against Lyudmila Tolmacheva, became known. She was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison in absentia – this is one of the most severe sentences for this article – for posts on Instagram about the alleged death of Russian high-ranking military personnel and the killing of civilians in Ukraine. The verdict was published more than two months after its delivery, Mediazona drew attention to it.

The court ruled that Tolmacheva’s posts on Instagram did not correspond to the public position of the Ministry of Defense. In addition to the torture of the residents of the Ukrainian village of Motyzhin and the mass murders in Buche, the posts also mentioned the losses of the Russian army. In the letter from the Ministry of Defense, attached to the court materials, it is said that the death of Lieutenant Generals Andrey Mordvychev and Yakov Rezantsev is not confirmed, and that the Russians “did not carry out” “torture and executions against civilians” in the area of ​​an unnamed village (apparently, it is about Motyzhyn, where the Russian military, according to numerous statements, interrogated and killed the old man and his family), as well as “executions of civilians” of an unnamed city, apparently Buchi (reports of such executions were also published).

The criminal case against 52-year-old Tolmacheva became known in October 2022, when she was arrested in absentia. The verdict was handed down in December.
